Susan Speidel's most recent stage appearance was as the "ample" barmaid Gretchen in the Paper Mill Playhouse production of THE STUDENT PRINCE. She is a frequent soloist with the Key West Symphonic Pops and has performed in various cabaret venues in Florida and New York including a recent sold-out run at Judys Chelsea in NYC. She continues as Director of Education for Paper Mill Playhouse where she oversees the theatres diverse educational activities including The Adopt-A-School Project, cited by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as a model arts education program and The Rising Star Awards for Excellence in the Produciton of High School Musical Theatre. She also oversees Paper Mills Theatre School and runs the theatres Summer Musical Theatre Conservatory, Childrens Theatre Series, TheatreStart Program, and Humanities Symposium Series. She teaches as an adjunct for the Department of Speech, Theatre, and Communications at Kean University and for the Department of Public Service at Seton Hall University. She has served for three years as the Chairman of the Education Committee for the New Jersey Theatre Group and has also served on grants panels for the Union and Essex County Offices of Cultural and Heritage Affairs, as an adjudicator for the Union County Teen Arts Festival and as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Union County Arts Center. Since her last appearance at Plays-In-The-Park, she's adopted a Yorkshire Terrier named Spencer who would make a great Chowsy whenever Gary is ready to do GYPSY again!
